Three

Three, it's our magic number, I hate to make it all about me, but for the first time ever I don't have any children younger than three, and I am okay with that, finally. I am sure that my ovaries are always going to lurch every time I see a new born baby or worse, watch One born every minute, but I am happy with my little family.

Three seems like such a big deal and like little by little we are getting some of our life back. Millie has been one of the three greatest things that has happened to us, but the past three years have been intense and chaotic. But lately we are getting there slowly, a big  girl who now sleeps in her own bed ( 50 % 0f the night) and who all of a sudden is not so dependent, I am starting to be able to do things I haven't been able to do for what feels like an eternity.

This was her first birthday that she had awareness of and we have done our best to ensure that she will remember it. Fittingly I made three cakes, one for pre-school, one for home and one for her party. We had a lovely family dinner on the day and a great party today. Party number one done, three more to go in our birthday season.

I made a funfetti cake for home and pre-school, lots of fun!
